Durashield Weighted Farm Ropes

• Made for aquaculture farms in exposed and extreme farming environments where it is important not to have any floating ropes.
• Mainline (Backbone) is made from high tenacity embossed Duradan yarns and “only in the world” plastic shielding that sits within top 2 layers of the stranding construction for maximum strength and minimal stretch.
• Plastic shielding offers a supporting membrane that reduces the effect of the storm surge stretch and compression loads, sediment penetration, which can lead to rope fatigue.
• With many new offshore and exposed coastal Marine Farms, there is sometimes a risk of exposure to “floating” unloaded Mainlines at times when there is no spat or crop ropes suspended below.
• Negative buoyancy is achieved by adding the unique mineral rock wires QE has developed for this environmental sensitive industry. Weighted inner cores with natural crushed rock wire comes as required.
• Manufactured with Carbon black colourants, one of the most effective UV inhibitors available and best suited to NZ/Pacific high UV conditions.
• Made from blended resins of virgin Polypropylene and polyethylene.
• Manufactured in New Zealand by NZ Rope & Twine Ltd unless stated otherwise.
