Company Profile
Quality Equipment = Quality by Name, Quality by Nature
At Quality Equipment we are huge supporters of global aquaculture, with a strong focus on Mussel, Seaweed and Pearl cultivation. We do our best to supply quality Ropes, Floats and Twines ideally suited to continuous harvest practises. We pride ourselves in sustainable farming methods, not wild fishing.
We are often a first point of contact if you’re interested in aquaculture. We do not consider ourselves consultants, just someone willing to help others and working at the coal face to ensure a direct, practical transfer of knowledge and successful relationships.
Our History
Quality Equipment was founded by the Franklin Family in 1969 as a small importing enterprise to help supply the local inshore commercial fishing industry and newly developing Aquaculture industry with appropriate and quality equipment.
Soon enough, with collaboration and support from the industries we began manufacturing our own specialty goods: Ropes, Twines, and Floats using our developing flexible extrusion long-life technologies in which we have come to specialise in.
Today, Quality Equipment is still proudly family-owned and operated organically growing QE to become the largest 3-strand rope manufacturer in Australasia.
Quality, Innovation and Family
At Quality Equipment, we run by the core tenets of Quality, Innovation and Family.
All Ropes, Twines and Floats QE manufacture’s are of the highest quality using virgin resins and our flexible extrusion technology. Even in New Zealand’s harsh UV lights, our aquaculture ropes and floats are UV stabilised and can be used in farming environments for up to 20 years or more! We are proud to say our manufacturing plant is Zero Waste as any plastic wastage is put back through the plant. All our products are built to last and with an extensive catalogue of products we are sure we have equipment to suit your needs.
We often consider innovation our middle name as we are constantly innovating our products. Most recently, we collaborated on the Auckland Downtown Waterfront revitalisation project, Te Wānanga. A project in which we are very proud to showcase the importance of positive aquaculture connection to our people, land and sea. We are open to all enquires and suggestions to your aquaculture needs. Often our innovation process begins in collaboration with our industry family. As a family-run business with industry family located all around New Zealand and the World we are extremely proud of the relationships we have created to support the ever amazing aquaculture industry.
